God of the Valleys: Mysteries Along Life’s Journey is a journey with God that reminds us that when we trust in God rather than leaning on our understanding, we acknowledge Him, and God will make our path straight (Proverbs 3:5-6). Janet Williamson’s journey is not a path of despair, nor are the pages strewn with hopeless devastation. Her story overflows with faith in God, undying courage, and God’s grace to push through struggles, even with joy. Theirs wasn’t a journey that exempted us from suffering; on the contrary, God and the support of friends taught them how to thrive in the midst of it. Hospitalization and cancer were such a big part of their lives that they had to triumph over these with God’s help to enjoy full lives. There are mysteries about God and suffering that are not easily explained, and even when we don’t understand, trusting in Him is still the answer.
